Church in the Park This Sunday!
Jul 8, 2010

It was awesome last Sunday to be the church in the midst of thousands of people filling Community Park for our city's July 4 celebration!  Thank you to all of you who were a part of preparing and doing crafts with kids, handing out balloons, and serving iced mochas on a hot day.  We collected $168 from selling iced mochas, and we are giving 100% of that to the Sexual Abuse & Domestic Violence Center of Yolo County.

This Sunday morning we will be out in the park once again.  No crowds this time (except maybe a few bicyclists and walkers passing by), but we will be together.  Every Sunday morning our worship together is about coming before Him and glorifying Him in the gathering of His people.  Its really not about the place or building we gather in. So Church in the Park is more than a fun time for us, it is also a wonderful reminder that the Church is God's people living our lives to glorify Him WHEREVER we find ourselves.

Prepare to worship in the park this Sunday.  Arrive and park in the usual theater parking lot, head right of the tennis courts, and follow our signs into the park.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket if you are able.  We'll have some special things for our kids, sing a few songs, share a message from 1 Samuel 30, celebrate Communion together, and enjoy some ice cold lemonade and refreshment.

We don't have to be in a church to be the Church!

See you in the park!
