Here in Discovery we believe that God has a special call on a man’s life. He calls us to be godly men, husbands, fathers and sons. He calls us to be servant leaders in our families, churches, workplaces and cities. This is no small task, and alone we will struggle and fall. But together, by God’s grace, we are growing to be the men God has created us to be.
Our Men’s Community seeks to create environments where men – young and old - connect with each other and grow together in God’s Word. A couple great opportunities for men to connect include:
- Quarterly All-Men’s Time. Join us for breakfast, make some friends, and hear a biblical message specifically geared for men.
- Men’s Connecting Points. In addition to events planned and hosted by our Men’s Community (such as hiking trips and basketball games) we encourage guys to organize their own events. Find a few guys with similar interests and we’ll help you connect others.
- Dads, Daughters and Little Dudes. Every couple months dads take their kids out together and give moms a break!
- Serving in our Church. We encourage our men to be active in every area of ministry – setup/teardown, music, ushering, children’s (background check required).
- Serving in our city. We see needs and meet needs in everyday life, in our neighborhoods, and in our cities.
- Annual Men’s Camp and Retreat. Each summer we head to the mountains for a few days together as men. Great time to connect and a great time to prepare for another year in Community together.
Ready for the challenge?
Men grow together as we study God’s Word and live it out in everyday life. Re-Discovering Biblical Manhood is our plan to disciple all the men in Discovery. It is a year-long journey that will see men rise up as biblical men, husbands, fathers, sons and leaders. Re-Discovering Biblical Manhood consists of Twelve Challenges that will:
- Minister to the most deeply felt needs of our men,
- Equip them to understand who God created them to be,
- Train them as Godly men, husbands, fathers, and sons and
- Infuse them with the confidence and courage they need to complete their mission.
Each month we will tackle one of the Twelve Challenges in weekly, mid-week Men’s Challenge Groups. These Groups will consist of 5-10 men meeting at a specific location from 6-7am weekly. Challenge Groups include impactful Biblical teaching, discussion, and accountability.
Biblical manhood is about becoming a disciple of Christ, not checking off that you’ve completed a course. We’ve developed Faith & Life Objectives for each challenge that minister to the Head (what you will know), Heart (true transformation) and Hands (how we live it out). Come and grow with us.
